Hydrochloric Acid Production - North America
A North American client in the oil and gas sector desired information on feasibility of production of hydrochloric acid from brine waste at drilling sites. Sabol provided information on electrolysis of brine to produce chlorine gas, hydrogen gas, and aqueous sodium hydroxide, the thermodynamics of “burning” of the gases to produce hydrogen chloride, and the process technology to prepare an purify the intermediates and final product.
