Pacifichem 2021 was not in Honolulu, but it was 100% virtual, from the comfort of your home or office. The symposium Chemical Business Best Practices for Global Challenges was Friday, 17 December 2021, 1:00-5:00 pm HST (UTC-10:00). See Pacifichem 2021.

Start-ups, small, and growing businesses are a major source of economic development within the Pacific Rim countries and scientific, technology, and engineering advances in the commercial sector are measured by their utility in the global community. Technical competence remains the core for students of chemistry, science, and engineering, but an increasing fraction of graduates is projected to find employment outside traditional academia and large industry sectors. Interdisciplinary, innovative, and nimble small entities are taking a larger market share and successful entrepreneurs leverage their skill-set to overcome the barriers that exist with large and established competitors. This symposium holds toolkit and best practices, to provide attendees with perspectives for entrepreneurial success.
